Lawrie Izzard joined Thetford Golf Club in 1995 having started playing golf in 1993. He served on General Commitee and a number of sub committees for four years prior to becoming Captain.
An engineer by qualification, Lawrie moved to Thetford in 1959, later spending twelve years moving around the country working for a number of PLCs before moving back to the area. He spent his last years prior to retirement as Group MD of a local company who manufacture timber framed houseing.
Lawrie is a very enthusiastic golfer who loves his golf and the social life built around the Golf Club.
Lawrie's chosen charity for this year is St Nicholas Hospice (www.stnicholashospice.co.uk) based in Bury St Edmunds.
