Matt & Robbie are Foursomes winners
Matt Harben & Robbie O'Brien battled through wet and windy conditions to win the Daily Mail Foursomes qualifier at Thetford - and they will represent the Club in next year's national knock-out competition.
They birdied the fifth and sixth holes as they played the front nine in 40 and another birdie at the 17th saw them complete a round of 81-6.5-74.5.
Runners-up, with 76.0, were Ian Farnham & Andrew Horsburgh with Robert Bentley & Paul Garnham third with 78.5. Other scores: 80.0 Ross Sanford & Rob Taylor; 80.5 Kevin Cooke & Paul Pearce, David Ball & David Sutton, Tony Brooks & Ray Hamilton and Mike Horley & Derek Sullivan.
The September Seniors' Stableford ended with a three-way tie at the top with 37pts. Geoff Clements (11) finished ahead of Maurice Anderson (8) and John Balster (15) on countback. Other scores: 35 John Carpenter (17) and Ollie Snushall (17); 34 David Sutton (13) and Graham Pitcher (9); 33 Martin Jackson (13) and Andy Rooney (20); 32 Dave Smith (18). There were 55 entrants.
John Tapp won the September Midweek Stableford with 36pts off his handicap of 22. Other scores: 34 Trevor Hucklesby (25), Maurice Anderson (8) and Rob Taylor (4); 33 Ian Brown (13), Robert Bentley (14) and Paul Macrow (27); 32 Stuart Honeybell (13); 31 Liam Bloom (21), Wayne Prigg (14), Tom Green (10), Scott Marketis (23), Phil Halford (14), Rob Johnson (11) and Paul Garnham (9).
