Dean ends the season in style

Dean Scott completed an excellent year at Thetford Golf Club when he won the final trophy competition of the year, the Bill Jennings Trophy
This is a champion of champions event in which those who have won a trophy or a Medal during the year take part. 18-year-old Dean, who won the handicap competition on Club Championship Day, came in with 75-7-68 to win by five strokes - and had a further cut in his handicap from seven to five.
Jason Huggins was runner-up with 78-5-73. Other scores: Mark Tudor 82-6-76, Andrew Beard 84-8-76, Dave Bennett 91-14-77, Ian Ramsay 87-9-78, John Baldwin 88-10-78, Robert Kingsley 90-11-79, Mike Horley 85-6-79, Dave Fawcett 89-10-79, David Sutton 92-13-79, David Hudson 86-7-79, Terry Stephenson 91-11-80, Brian Maiden 100-19-81, Malcolm Fleet 102-20-82.
The Ladies' AmAm on Thursday had been sold out for months and saw 112 ladies from 30 different clubs across the region taking part in this very popular annual event.

The course was very well presented with lots of grass which is unprecedented for the time of year.  As a result of this, the course was playing long, something our visitors found more challenging than usual which resulted in some different teams ending up in the top four places.

The winners were Lin Smith, Angela Middleton, Rosie Owen and Sue Hellman from Halesworth with 88pts, two more than Joyce Grimes, Paula Offer, Lindy Clemmow and Alison Peake from Bourne.

Other scores: 84 Jenny Beckett, Helen Beck, Lorraine Hall and Anna Devlin (Sprowston Manor); 81 Liz Bezance, Debbie Anthistle, Julie Byford and  Marriette Robertese (Bury St Edmunds). Nearest the pin: 3rd hole (Bronze Division) - Sheila Withams (Lakeside Lodge); 16th hole (Silver Division) - Phoebe Brown (Newmarket).

The winners from Halesworth are pictured below with Ladies' Captain Gill Welham
