Ryan's Medal success
Ryan Woods won the first of Thetford Golf Club's Winter Medals with a fine round of 77-10-67 on Sunday. He played the front nine in 39 and came back in 38, including a birdie two at the 16th. He was a runaway winner of the Division One prize, finishing six strokes ahead of Norrie Dickson (80-7-73) with Matt Foulds third (84-10-74). The October Midweek Medal was won by Dean Scott with 76-5-71, beating Paul Garnham (81-9-72) and Robert Bentley (86-14-72) by a single stroke. Thetford Golf Club's Champion of Champions will be crowned on Sunday when the Bill Jennings Trophy is held. Players qualify throughout the year by winning trophy competitions or Club medals - and this year's field includes Club Champion Owen Mills in a field of 18. Play begins at 8am.
The call is still going out for left-handers to take part in Mr Gs Left-Handers' Championship
