Every One a Winner - including charity

There was a bumper field of 31 teams of four for the annual Every One a Winner competition on Saturday - and everybody went home with a prize to kick off the festive season in style.

The team in 31st place won a case of beer each while the winning team went home with a bottle of malt whisky each.The overall winners were Tom Price, Glenn Beardsall, Graham Sloan and Shaun Langham with a 10-under-par gross score of 62, and with their handicap taken away their nett total was 57.3. They had eight birdies and two eagles at the par-5 13th and 17th.

The unlucky runners-up with 60-2.6=57.4 were Matt Wabe, Tony Brooks, Matt West and David Ball and their round included seven birdies and two eagles, again at par-5s, the 6th and the 17th.

Third place went to Jason Huggins, Kevin Cooke, Paul Pearce & Rob Taylor with 62-2.2=59.8.

Other leading scores: 65-4.6=60.4 Rob Mill, Mark Alford, Simon Moore & John Hopkins; 64-3.5=60.5 Ian Farnham, Colin Butler, Matt Harben & David Clarke; 67-6.4=60.6 Chris White, Terry Young, Paul Body & David Bick; 69-8.2=60.8 Kevin Stannard, Brian Johnson, Tim Norman and Jim Atherton; 67-6.2-60.8 Andrew Bremner, Steve McIlroy, Ray Hamilton & Steve Forbes; 66-4.4=61.6 Trevor Wignall, Alan Brown, Roger Smith & Steve Locke; 67-5.4=61.6 Mark Tudor, Phil Williams, Andy Dunn & Ged Davey.

At the end of the competition 2018 Club Captain Bob Pearson handed over two cheques for his chosen charities. Both Sense and The Cinnamon Trust received cheques for £2,600.


On Sunday the Division One Medal was won by Ian Ramsay with 74-6-68. He finished on stroke ahead of Peter Webster (81-12-69) and Ryan Woods (79-9-70).
