Rob is elected as Club Captain

Rob Mill was formally elected as Club Captain for 2020 at last night's AGM. His Vice-Captain will be Jon Congdon, while Les Dewey will succeed Richard Goodenough as President.

Sue Pitcher was elected as Ladies Captain at the Ladies' AGM on Saturday (November 30) and her place on the Board of Directors was confirmed.

Small increases to the annual subscriptions were approved, as were the accounts, with David Buller elected as Treasurer. There was one vacancy on the Board and Andrew Bloom was elected for a three-year term.

The third AGM of Thetford Golf Club Ltd, following 104 AGMs for Thetford Golf Club, was one of the shortest on record and was concluded in 32 minutes.

A reminder that the Captains' Drive-in will be held on Saturday December 7 following the Every One a Winner shotgun start competition. That gets under way at 9am and after everybody has had the chance to return to the Clubhouse for a restorative drink everybody will be invited to go to the 14th tee to witness Rob, Sue and Seniors Captain Jim Neal drive in to office. That is likely to be at around 2pm. That should allow enough time for Rob to hop to the tee - he is still recovering from a broken ankle and although he is likely to need some support - literally - he will still undertake the traditional drive. If he is on one leg it may be necessary to adjust the distance you think he will hit it when you have a go on the usual sweep!
